As a patient with cancer, having the autonomy to advocate for yourself is the first step in informed decision making. This one time consultation with our experienced oncology nurse will help make sense of the overwhelming options in your care.

You will be met at any part of your cancer journey where we will do a review of your current health challenges and assess how your treatment can be best supported. With a consult between each treatment we will organize key side effects, what to monitor for and how to advocate for yourself at your following appointments. This will span through your treatment with the goal of maintaining your confidence in your care.

This level of advocacy includes your family and or friends to act as part of your team. By gaining valuable information from your support team, this helps the advocacy process by identifying what areas can best be supported. This tier supports the patient sharing the experience of their treatment with their loved ones, while still keeping their autonomy at the center of our work. We will communicate at the level best for the patient and their care giving team -email, phone calls, texts- between treatments in preparation for follow up visits. Your Advocate will be integral in supporting your journey coming from clinical experience by interpreting your values, prepare for following treatments as well as what to expects and how to mitigate any challenges before they can happen.

This is the level of advocacy that takes the Cancer Journey as their own, your advocate will be accessible for support during appointments, in between treatments, treatment day and the immediate following days. Your Advocate will be helping you and your care team with decisions, coming from extensive clinical experience your advocate will make the journey as smooth as possible all the while supporting the loved ones as well. This tier will walk every step with you, advocate for you while you are still honored as the principal in your treatment.
